All of Harvey Weinstein's Sexual Misconduct Accusers (So Far)

"Wtf Twitter? My timeline is inundated with heinously offensive bots daily and this is the account you suspend?" McGowan's former "Charmed" co-star tweets.

Hollywood has Rose McGowan's back.

A variety of stars, directors and writers rallied behind the actress after she shared on Instagram and Facebook Wednesday night that Twitter had suspended her account. The suspension came after days of McGowan using the social media platform to rail against Harvey Weinstein for a flood of sexual assault allegations, as well as Ben Affleck for allegedly turning a blind eye and enabling the abusive movie mogul to continue to prey on young women trying to break into the industry.

"Hey Twitter let us know which of these rules Rose Mcgowan broke. Asking for multiple victims of sexual violence," tweeted two-time Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain on Wednesday morning.

McGowan's former "Charmed" co-star Holly Marie Combs tweeted, "Wtf Twitter? My timeline is inundated with heinously offensive bots daily and this is the account you suspend? I need an explanation."

Twitter has since provided one, too.

We have been in touch with Ms. McGowan’s team. We want to explain that her account was temporarily locked because one of her tweets included a private phone number, which violates of our Terms of Service. The Tweet was removed and her account has been unlocked. We will be clearer about these policies and decisions in the future. Twitter is proud to empower and support the voices on our platform, especially those that speak truth to power. We stand with the brave women and men who use Twitter to share their stories, and will work hard every day to improve our processes to protect those voices."

McGowan shared a screenshot of the notification from Twitter on Wednesday night. "We have determined that this account violated the Twitter rules, so we’ve temporarily limited some of your account features," the message read. Twitter recommended the actress “delete tweets that violate our rules” to regain access.

As of 7:20 a.m. PT Thursday, McGowan's account had been unlocked, but not before her name became a trending topic on Twitter and dozens of major Hollywood players shared their outrage.

Twitter suspends Rose McGowan yet does nothing about @realDonaldTrump Hey @jack your priorities are out of whack

— Emma Kennedy (@EmmaKennedy) October 12, 2017

Apparently where Rose McGowan went wrong was not threatening nuclear war with Weinstein or Affleck.

Rose McGowan suspended; bc 1 public figure decrying sexual harassment on Twitter upsets anonymous trolls doing sexual harassment on Twitter.
